Sure enough, there are lots of uses here are some I found, I will add to this as I find them or hear about them from comments.
*These ideas are for using ALCOHOL based mouthwashes that are also sugar free. Don't know what will happen if you use other kinds. Might not be good. *think Listerene* check product labels.
Bathroom Uses: (other than gargling)
1. wipe down your sink and faucets with a rag/paper towel & mouthwash
2. quick clean bathroom mirror and windows
3. put 1/4 cup into toilet, let sit while you dress, have your coffee, etc.. come back and swish with brush and flush.
4. mix 1/2 cup of mouthwash and 1/2 cup water use as an after shampoo hair rinse to help get rid of dandruff. (*have you SEEN the price of dandruff shampoo? This is at least worth trying right? You probably need to do this a while before it gives good results, but why not?
5. Soak toothbrush in a small cup of mouthwash--perhaps in your toothbrush holder --(I use a small vase) this will clean both at once.
Kitchen Uses: Keep an extra bottle near your kitchen sink
1. wash out sink and faucets (like in bathroom)
2.use to wash your hands after peeling or cutting garlic or onions
Laundry Room:
1. Add one cup to washing machine to sanitize and deodorize. think: gym socks, clothing or bedding used by a sick family member
2. Use with a rag to wipe down your machines.
Glass Surfaces:
1. Use with a rag to wipe mirrors, glass table tops, windows, microwave, try on car windows perhaps?
Old fashioned glass TV & computer monitors--not newer soft screens!
Uses for Plants:
1. use to keep fresh flowers longer in vase, add 1 tablespoon to a g half gallon vase of water.
2. a spray or wipe of 25% mouthwash & 75% water is good to clean plant leaves and keep them mildew free. (no more than once weekly)
First Aid Uses:
1. use instead of hand sanitizer
2. use to clean scrapes and bumps to help prevent infection or bruising
3. Apply to poison ivy, do it as soon as possible when you realize you've been exposed. Repeat as needed.
4. Nail Fungus-- mix 50/50 with vinegar and apply to nail with a cotton ball. Repeat several times a day, should begin to improve in a few weeks.
5. Athlete's foot--apply mouth wash with cotton ball morning and evening, should improve in a few days.
6. Foot bath--just put a 1/4 cup in a small tub of water and let them soak and freshen up.
7. Use as astringent on oily face
8. Use to clean new piercings or infected ones
Next time you have a few coupons and you really don't think you need another bottle of mouth wash-- think again! Have you got some for your laundry room or your first aid kit? Use those coupons!
